The Catholic sector here is small and easy to describe: two parish elementary schools in Shreveport that run pre-K through 8, and one coed high school that takes students in grades 9-12. All three are BESE-approved and all three were on the 2024-25 STO list. Parish schools quote a lower rate to registered, contributing parishioners, which is the first number to ask for.

* K-12 enrollment on the state's 2025-26 BESE approval list; federal survey enrollment for schools not on that list. "BESE-approved" means the school can accept LA GATOR tuition if it registers in Odyssey for the year. "Not approved" schools can't be paid tuition from the account.
Three schools, and that is the whole sector
The Catholic school system in these six parishes is 3 schools with 815 K-12 students between them: two pre-K through 8 schools in Shreveport, St. John Berchmans Cathedral School and St. Joseph Catholic School, and one high school, Loyola College Prep, which takes students in grades 9 through 12. The Diocese of Shreveport is one of the youngest and smallest dioceses in Louisiana, and that shows up directly in the school count. For comparison, the Archdiocese of New Orleans has more than sixty approved schools and Baton Rouge has more than thirty.
Two practical consequences. There is no large diocesan tuition assistance fund here of the kind south Louisiana families apply to, so aid is school by school. And the transition point is grade 9 rather than grade 8, which is the New Orleans pattern, so a family at one of the elementary schools has one obvious Catholic continuation and a wider set of non-Catholic options at the same transfer.
The parishioner rate is the first number to ask for
Both elementary schools quote a lower rate to registered, contributing parishioners and a higher one to everyone else, and the gap is usually larger than any fee on the schedule. Register with the parish first if you intend to, then ask the school office for both rates in writing along with the fee list, and ask how the business office bills Odyssey: the account pays in four quarterly deposits and school billing cycles do not always match that rhythm.
All three take STO scholarships
Every one of the three appeared on the state's 2024-25 Tuition Donation Credit participating list, which means a household at or below 250% of the federal poverty level can stack an STO award on top of LA GATOR here, up to the school's actual tuition and fees. At Shreveport Catholic tuition levels that combination gets a qualifying family a long way toward the full bill, which is not true of the archdiocesan high schools downstate.
