About Shreveport Edu Funding and where every number here comes from

A guide to LA GATOR and private school funding in Caddo, Bossier, Webster, DeSoto, Red River and Claiborne parishes, built from public state and federal records rather than school marketing.

The sources, named

State approval. The Louisiana Department of Education, 2025-2026 BESE-Approved Nonpublic Schools Academic Classification List & Brumfield v. Dodd Approvals (May 19, 2025) is the spine of this site: grade span, academic classification, Brumfield v. Dodd date, pre-K and K-12 enrollment for every approved nonpublic school in Louisiana. We took the 27 schools in Caddo, Bossier, Webster, DeSoto, Red River and Claiborne parishes. Lincoln and Ouachita parishes, which belong to the Monroe and Ruston market, and Natchitoches, which is in the Diocese of Alexandria, are deliberately left out rather than padded in.

Scholarship participation. The Louisiana Department of Education, Tuition Donation Credit Program 2024-2025 Participating Nonpublic Schools tells us which schools accepted STO scholarships, which is what determines whether a second award can stack on the account. The Louisiana Department of Education, 2025 Louisiana Scholarship Program Scholarship Cohort Indices supplies results where enough former voucher students were tested, which in this part of the state is a short list.

Federal records. The U.S. Department of Education, NCES Private School Survey (2023-24 public-use file; 2021-22 where a school did not respond in 2023-24) supplies street addresses, teacher counts, religious affiliation and association memberships for 19 schools. 1 school in this directory appears in the federal survey but not on the state approval list, and it is shown precisely so families know LA GATOR cannot pay its tuition. Where the federal file gave a post office box rather than a street, or where an approved school has no federal record at all, we used the school's own published address: that applies to 1 school here, and those are flagged in the text rather than presented as official data.

Program rules. Award amounts, priority groups, the application window and the spending rules come from the Louisiana Department of Education's LA GATOR pages and the Odyssey help center for 2026-27. Funding figures come from reporting on the 2026 legislative session. The residency process for active-duty military families comes from Odyssey's own support documentation. Rules change, and the program call center (225-422-1538) is the final word on any individual case.

What we deliberately do not do

We do not publish a page for every school in the directory. A school gets a profile only when it is BESE-approved, has a verifiable street address, enrolls at least 90 K-12 students and has at least five school-specific public facts to report. 11 schools in these six parishes do not clear that bar, usually because they are new, very small, or reported no enrollment to the state, and they appear in the directory tables instead. A thin page about a school we know nothing about helps no one and we would rather have 17 substantial pages than 28 empty ones.

We also do not publish tuition we have not seen. Louisiana does not collect it, so where you see a dollar figure on this site it is either the state award, a published price from the school or provider, or an illustration that says so in the same breath.

Who we are

Shreveport Edu Funding is a Boss Leads project. We are independent of the Diocese of Shreveport, the Louisiana Department of Education, BESE and Odyssey. Advisors help families build a funding plan and introduce them to schools and providers that take their funding; where we have a commercial relationship with a school, curriculum or provider, it is labeled on the page.

If a school is missing, an address is wrong or a number looks off, tell us and we will check it against the record and correct it.

See what your family's account would cover here

Five questions, no documents. An advisor calls back with the amount you are likely to get, which Shreveport-Bossier schools take it, and what covers the rest.
